Government has lifted some restrictions on the arts and entertainment industry.

DJs, comedians, jazz sessions, poets, drama, choral musicians, traditional singing and dancing as well as art exhibitions have been given a green light although the number of attendants has been restricted to 75 people.

Big Weekend welcomes the move eagerly and urges our local artists to take advantage of the situation while borders are still closed.

This is the time to host 100% local shows. However, our artists must up their game and grab the opportunity to win the hearts of the fans to avoid a situation where they might end up preforming for empty seats.

Venue owners should also reduce charges since only a limited audience and spectators are allowed to attend.
