Riders to hit the road

After successfully hosting the Botswana Cycling Association (BCA) National Championships Time-Trials, BCA have shifted focus to this weekend’s Road Race.
In an interview with Voice Sport this week, the association’s Vice President (VP) Kagiso Molatlhwa revealed a tough competition is expected.
“It is going to be a big one as we expect all our cycling clubs to be part of the race as cyclists will be eyeing a national championship Road Race accolade. This race will start by Rasesa and doing some loops around the village then go into the A1 road as the distance is longer than of the time-trials,” explained Molatlhwa.
Hoping to replicate her recent triumph in the Time-Trials Elite Women’s category, Tsela Riders star, Matshidiso Ebudilwe told Voice Sport, “It was a much easier win for me in the previous race as the girl who usually gives me a run for my money was not there.
“And as for the upcoming event, I can say am ready for what is coming. I am prepared to work really hard to win it.”
Ebudilwe’s Tsela Riders teammate, Lebopo Mompe, who was crowned Junior champion a the Time-Trials, is also expecting a tougher test.
“I think it is a difficult race looking at the possibilities of high rainfall but I intend to work really hard by utilising my opponent’s weaknesses. If they show any sign of fatigue, that when I will attack them maybe emerge victorious,” Mompe said.
