Singer Amantle Brown this week retreated from the public eye to nurse a swollen face after she was allegedly assaulted by a male friend.
The 28-year-old R&B sensation confirmed the assault incident to The Voice this morning and although she was too emotional to reveal further details of the attack, she said she had reported the matter to the police.
Her manager, Theo Kolonyane, has however clarified that the man who assaulted Amantle is not her boyfriend.
“No there is no romantic relationship or anything like that. They know each other through a mutual friend. They were at Block 5 at the time when the incident happened,” Kolonyane confirmed.
According to Amantle Brown’s manager the singer is currently at home nursing her bruises.
“Her face is a bit swollen. We are waiting for feedback from the police because Amantle was humiliated and degraded by this man and the law needs to take its course,” Kolonyane said.
Gaborone West police Station Commander, Knight Molosiwa, confirmed the incident. “I can confirm that we received the report at around 4am from Amantle Ntshole alleging that she was assaulted and beaten up by a male friend. We are yet to locate the man but the police are working on the matter,” he said
