DETERMINED: Khama
DETERMINED: Khama

“I will continue telling people what is going wrong in the country,” Khama

A month after writing a letter to the South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa, requesting him to impose sanctions against President Mokgweetsi Masisi, former president Ian Khama has maintained that he will continue sensitising people about what is going wrong in this country.

Speaking during the Botswana Patriotic Front’s Digital Platforms Launch this week, Khama said that they were going to use their digital platforms to inform Batswana about what is going on in this country.

“We are not only going to tell people what is going on but what is going wrong with this country, too.”

Target Khama said that they were going to target everyone in their new digital registration.

Khama, who got the BPF membership card number one, wrote a two-page letter to Ramaphosa on September 8th, asking the South African government to sanction Masisi in his official capacity and his administration for ‘undiplomatic offensives towards South African sovereignty by the government of Botswana under Masisi.”

In the letter, Khama referred to a controversial court case which implicated the South African government in alleged money laundering and terrorism financing in Botswana, an accusation which has since been dismissed by the local courts.
