What is one lesson you have picked from Covid-19?

Covid-19 has really suffocated our business; we are unable to make shows because of the no-gathering law.

Our business relies on mass gatherings and so we suffered from that point.

But we had to reinvent and come up with other strategies to survive.

Initially, we never thought it would take this long but it has been more than a year now.

Covid-19 has taught me that as a musician we should diversify because music won’t cut it all the time.

In light of this, what should Government do to assist the industry?

To be honest, the Government has tried to assist us and it needs to be commended.

We were given the Relief Fund last year, and I know it was not enough considering how much we lost but Government can only do so much.

At this point, Government’s priorities are focused on health and we can’t blame them.

My thinking is that we as entertainers need to look into doing something whilst we wait for some sort of cure.

We have our hands that we could use to start up any business, no matter how small it is.

Any new music in the works?

I am recording new music, lots of music and just compiling music.

I won’t be releasing any album for now but as soon as the Covid-19 wave is over then I will definitely release the album.

Who would you say is the best female artist in Botswana?

Slizer, one time!

She is a personal friend but aside from that, before I started professional music I looked up to her.

She is the best in the business, to be honest!

Which of your songs is your favorite?

Well, it will have to be ‘A re bine rotlhe.

It is the one song that made the late Patricia Majalsa recognize me.

In fact, before she died we had been working on a project together.
