Help to fight Corona

It’s going to be a tough month for the arts industry.

The COVID-19 virus has hit where it hurts the most.

With the imminent danger posed by the virus many events lined up for this weekend and and the next two months have been cancelled and rightfully so.

This is a plea to other promoters to do the same and reschedule their events.

It’ll definitely come at a cost but is for the greater good.

Grooving In The Ghetto urges all artists and loyal readers of this column to take all precautionary measures to help defeat the virus.

In the wake of the corona virus scourge, President Mokgweetsi Masisi has hinted at financial assistance from China.

Prior to the 2019 general election Masisi also received, “ no strings attached” funding from the Chinese.

Shaya however, knows that contrary to what the president would like us to believe there is no free lunch.

Anyhow Shaya will not say I told you so when the moment of reckoning arrives.

President of the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) (quite frankly Shaya is not even sure if the movement still exists) is broke, Shaya has been told.

A little birdie whispered into yours truly’s ear this week that Mr President is so broke that a close associate of his had to bail him out recently and pay school fees for his children.

As if that was not enough, the man is also rumored to be facing several lawsuits from his employees at the law firm.

All Shaya can say is that politics is not for sissies.
