RED MIST LEADS TO REMAND: Tshuma

Having been in the country illegally for the last nine years, one might have expected Bhekizitha Tshuma to keep a low profile.

However, the 42-year-old Zimbabwean unwittingly attracted police attention last Monday when his girlfriend reported him to the cops for threat to kill.

It is alleged Tshuma flew into a jealous rage after spotting his lover, Noki Jane, in the company of her baby daddy.

The couple were returning from buying food at the shops, although it seems Tshuma was unable to stand seeing his woman with her former flame.

Reportedly armed with an axe, making his words all the more sinister, Tshuma is believed to have said, “You’ve started having an intimate relationship with Baji; I am going to kill you.”

A short, sharp statement with far reaching consequences!

He was arrested at his home in Mabesekwa village the following day and arraigned before Francistown Magistrates’ Court on Thursday charged with threat to kill.

In court, the prosecution pointed out Tshuma entered Botswana through an ungazatted point back in 2012 and has been staying in the country illegally ever since.

Deemed a potential flight risk because of his illegal immigrant status, and with investigations at a preliminary stage, the suspect was remanded in custody. He is due back in court on 24th July.
