TRAUMATISED: Mbulawa

Prominent businessman and Botswana Democratic Party’s (BDP) Regional Chairperson for Maun, Reaboka Mbulawa, is said to be nursing post traumatic stress after hitting and killing an 8-year-old girl in a road accident on Saturday evening.

Confirming the accident, Maun police Station Commander- Chenamo Orateng, said the accident occurred at Kookale settlement, just outside Maun where the girl was trying to cross the road.

“The vehicle was going East ward (away from Maun) and the girl was crossing the road when the vehicle that was being driven by a 46 year old man hit her,” explained Orateng.

He added that the girl had just parted ways with a family member whom she had been helping hitchhike at the bus stop, not far from their home.

“She was rushed to Letsholathebe Memorial Hospital in Maun and was certified dead upon arrival,” Orateng further added.

Meanwhile a 29-year-old man also succumbed to another road accident which took place this past Sunday along Maun-Shorobe road.

Orateng said the driver is said to have lost control of the Honda-Fit which overturned and he was certified dead upon arrival at the hospital.
