After he was scoffed by rapper ATI, the Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Culture Development (MYSC) Tumiso Rakgare has issued a warning for the rapper to avoid being driven by a political motive.
ATI (Atasaone Molemogi) has been on a controversial rant about wanting change and wanting to meet with President Mokgweetsi Masisi but govt scheduled an interview for A.T.I with the Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Culture Development (MYSC) Tumiso Rakgare instead.
The ‘khiring khiring Khorong’ hitmaker however went on a live social media video to announce that it would be beneath him to meet with the minister.
“I am not going to meet with Rakgare. I schooled with him. I want to meet the President,” ATI said.
Reached for comment on Tuesday Rakgare said, “I am in a position of leadership and it comes with challenges. I have taken the latest incident as a challenge and I have moved on from it.”
“We only got to learn he is not coming through social media. We had shifted the planned meetings to meet him but unfortunately…he did not turn up and I had to learn of that through social media so that is that,” Rakgare said.
However, the youthful Minister went on to warn ATI against politically influenced motives.
“My Ministry is here to deal with any grievances. I can only hope ATI’s concerns are not politically motivated. I hope there are no political motives because if they are then we would have to deal with him politically.”
“Our doors are always open for discussion even if he can change his mind and say he wants to meet we will avail ourselves but that’s only if there are no political motives,” the Minister further said.
