Shaya would have given a week’s wages to be a fly-on-the-wall at a meeting held between the DPP and DIS over the weekend.
Apparently, the DIS is adamant they should be in control of the prosecutorial process, including ordering visiting advocate Gerrie Nel on what to do.
In turn, this reportedly did not sit well with the DPP, turning the meeting into another heated session.
Now that the DCEC has literally abandoned the case, it remains to be seen if Nel’s visit to the country will prove worthwhile.
How I hope the recordings of this recent meeting are eventually leaked – after all, it wouldn’t be the first time!
