Tshekedi’s former pilot arrested

LESTER PROBED OVER MISSING CHOPPER

Directorate of Intelligence Services (DIS) on Wednesday arrested and detained Member of Parliament, Tshekedi Khama’s former chief pilot, Les Trotter.

According to a reliable source, Trotter, a South African National is being questioned about a missing helicopter belonging to the Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources Conservation and Tourism, which was allegedly procured but never delivered.

The missing helicopter is said to have been one of the four choppers that were procured only for it not to be delivered with the other three which are currently still with the department.

Information gathered by this publication has indicated that the missing helicopter has since been found in South Africa leading to the arrest of Trotter and two others.

Arrested with Trotter are the Ministry’s Head of Procurement, Major Mothibedi Galeboe and a DIS Aircraft Engineer, Johnson Selario and Aircraft Engineer based within the spy agency. The South African national was head hunted to be Head of Aviation at Director level when Tshekedi was heading the said Ministry.

Confirming the arrests on Wednesday, DIS Spokesperson, Edward Robert said; “The Directorate is questioning some former and current government employees in relation to some investigations on a matter that has the potential to compromise national security.”

However Robert refused to divulge any more details on the matter.
