LEBOGANG MOSOPE

Hard times for politicians

Before he can settle in his office as the Botswana Democratic Party’s Chairman for Gaborone Branch, Lebogang Mosope is already going through a rough patch.

Mosope’s property will be sold through auction sale two days before independence and amongst the goods to be disposed off in front of Broadhurst Magistrate Court are a television set, three piece sofas and a base bed.

KENTSE RAMMIDI

Ooh the former Member of Parliament , Kentse Rammidi’s property is also going under the hammer with National Development Bank coming after him.

All this amidst allegations that Rammidi is planning a comeback into politics by challenging Thapelo Letsholo for Kanye North constituency.

Shaya’s advice to Rammidi would be fot him to focus on protecting his property instead of the dirty game of politics.

PHENYO SEGOKGO

Meanwhile, former South East District Council Chair, Phenyo Segokgo is still under civil imprisonment over a debt that he has failed to pay.

Indeed when times are hard friends are few as no one is coming forward to help the once darling of many.

Maybe after seeing hearing this from Shaya, Umbrella for Democratic Change members will have their conscience pricked enough for them to reach out and help a comrade.

Boozing GU

Shaya has observed a strange behaviour between some of the Gaborone United players and some of the management.

Shaya has spotted some of them drinking alcohol together at Sunday Soccer games and at Tsholofelo flats.

Although you may be passing time with your players this is likely to backfire in the long run.

You have to instil discipline in your players instead of encouraging such behaviour where you are seen binge drinking with players in public.

Flags flying high around the city

Civil servants refusing to take orders

Following the announcement of the demise of her Majesty The Queen on Thursday President Mokgweetsi Masisi declared an official period of mourning which would include flying the flag at half-mast until the funeral next week Monday.

However, it seems the memo did not reach some Ministries because some flags were yet to be lowered around the city at the time of going to press.

Why has there been a delay in executing a presidential order? Could it be because many of of govt bosses are on acting capacity?

DEMEANING THE ZEBRAS: Hugo Broos

What changed from Zebras being weak?

Shaya has come across a statement that the South African Senior football team, Bafana Bafana will next week play a friendly game against our national team, Zebras.

This has been confirmed by South African Football Association CEO, Tebogo Motlanthe.

Shaya is wondering what could have influenced the turn of events with the Bafana Bafana coach, Hugo Broos who once openly declared that he would rather face a strong team like France and lose than walk over a weaker opposition like Botswana as preparations for 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

You owe the nation a big apology Broos!

Things they say

The best thing to ever come out of Botswana is beef.

You can travel across the globe you’ll never find a tasty beef like ours.

Most beef around the world tastes like plastic or gum.

It lacks that thing on your taste buds.

Ours you can even eat as breakfast alone, lunch and dinner.
