Human bones found near Nswazwi

TUTUME STATION COMMANDER: Halahala

Could they belong to Kalakamati murder suspect?

Police are investigating a case in which bones believed to be human, were found deep in the bush between Kalakamati and Nswazwi village.

It is thought the remains could belong to 39-year-old Goshwe native Ngwisiwa Dabutha, a murder suspect who has evaded the cops for almost two years.

Described as extremely dangerous by police, on the 28th of December 2017, Dabutha is said to have stabbed his girlfriend, Wabo Precious Malapeng, 35, in the neck after an argument.

Acting on a tip-off, police found Malapeng’s dead body lying in a pool of blood at her home in Kalakamati.

Dabutha has not been seen since.

Confirming the discovery of the bones, which were found by a passerby on the morning of November 7, Tutume Station Commander Jerry Halahala revealed, “They were some few bones, including a skull, which we suspect are for the human being. They looked old and we suspect they have been there for a long time.”

According to Halahala, besides the bones they found two cellular phones and an electric wire.

“Although we are still investigating, one would think the wire was used to commit suicide. The phones had been out in the open for a long time and we cannot see who they belong to.”

Changing from fact to speculation, the top cop went on to say, “There was once a murder case in Kalakamati and the suspect was on the run so we think maybe the bones belong to him. We engaged his family who are helping us in our investigations.”

Halalala added the bones have been sent for DNA analysis and that the case has been referred to Masunga Police Station since Kalakamati is under Masunga’s jurisdiction.
