In its 5th installment, Mascom Wireless together with Fashion Without borders returned this past weekend at Cresta Maun for the Mascom Derby Fashion Show 2022.
Culminated under the theme “A NEW DAWN”, which in fashion terms means new era to unleash pro African craftsmanship, fashion without borders in partnership with Mascom Wireless showcased 11 fashion designers for the Mascom Derby Fashion Show 2022.
Under the backdrop of scenic Maun, the event commenced with day 1 of the Mascom Derby Master class where industry giants like Black Thrash converged under one roof at Cresta Maun, sensitizing fashion enthusiasts, while Miss Botswana 2022,Palesa Molefhe and Dr Thanolo Keutlwile addressed aspiring models.
For the past 5 years, Fashion without borders together with Mascom Wireless has provided and showcased a platform for upcoming designers to present their fashion businesses to global markets.
Since the impact of COVID-19 on small businesses has been very bad, Mascom Derby allowed for these businesses to trade and benefit directly.
This act gave hope to these small businesses to be able to interact and make money and hopefully get them ready to revive their businesses to be able to contribute on the local economy.
The Mascom Derby fashion show was the highlight of the night with show stopping fashion visuals from some of Botswana’s upcoming designers.
In its year of operation, the fashion Derby gained vast recognition.
The glitz and glamor event was hosted by the impeccable hosts, Loungo Andre Pitse and BTV presenter, Sadi Dikgaka.
In attendance was Minister of Youth, Sport and Culture, Honorable Tumiso Rakgare, Assistant Minister of Youth Sports and Culture Honorable Honest Buti Billy, Chief Executive Officer, Mascom, Mme Dzene Makhwadi Seboni, Deputy Permanent Secretary , MYSC, Mr Bruno Palai, Ngamiland Council Chairman Mr Kebareeditse Ntsogotho, Acting Chairperson Botswana National Sports Council, Mr Jeffrey Gare, Chief Executive Officer, Botswana National Olympic Committee, Tuelo Serufho, Director of Sports, Ministry of Youth Sports & Culture, Moreetsi Bogadi, Managing Director of Huawei, Mr Dong Xuefeng and Miss Botswana 2022 Palesa Molefe, to mention but a few.
As the night ended, the highlight of The Mascom Derby fashion show was the ecstatic revelers who were fashionably emancipated by the impeccable and show stopping fashion visuals from some of Botswana’s upcoming designers.
