Serena still packs a punch!

*2017 PLSE Top Achiever does it again

She was the toast of the town at the 2018 Primary School Leaving (PSL) Excellence Awards held in Francistown back in July 2019.

The former Ikhutseng Primary School student walked away with the Best Pupil award in the Northern region for Mathematics, Science and Social Studies.

Three years later and 15-year-old Tsholofelo Serena Molefabangwe has done it again.

The former Donga Junior School student is one of only 13 students to obtain a Merit in the just released Junior Certificate results.

The teenager, who in 2018 said she lived by the motto ‘when you’ve a setback, don’t step back’ made a sterling comeback, securing eight A’s and one B.

Now with focus on senior school, Molefabangwe has told The Voice that she wants to study medicine.

“Cardiology to be precise,” declared Molefabangwe.

FLASHBACK: The star pupil in her primary days

The brainy youngster said she was delighted with her performance in the exams and commended her support structure, which includes her parents, teachers and tutors at CrackIt institution, where she received free tuition throughout her three years at Donga.

Her beaming mother, Kenosi Lewis, could barely hide her excitement as she spoke with The Voice on Wednesday, the day after the results were released.

Lewis said she was proud and grateful to God to be among the 13 mothers in Botswana celebrating their children’s high academic achievements.

“It is through the love and support we received from the many stakeholders involved in my child’s life,” she said.

A staunch member of the Seventh Day Adventist, Lewis appealed to parents to support their children with everything they have to help them realise their dreams.

She vowed to continue nurturing her offspring until she realise her dream of specializing in the study of heart diseases and abnormalities.
